Open Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Holidays coincide with school vacations
The
organisation of this museum practically coincides with the foundation
of La Salle School. However, it was in 1907, upon the arrival
of brother Esteban, that the museum began to grow and develop
in a methodical way.
The glass cases in the main hall contain a considerable number
of mammals, birds and reptiles. There are also collections of
minerals, coins, insects and butterflies. The rarest exhibits
include a reduced head belonging to a Jíbaro indian, a calf with
two heads, two deformed lambs, four-legged hens, and a two-tailed
salamander. The secondary hall contains exhibits of the products
of human labor, such as trains, airplanes and freight elevators,
and a glass case exhibiting porcelain pieces and old weapons.
