The
Museum operates in what used to be Xul Solarīs home. The artist
himself had requested that his house be transformed into a centre
for cultural events imbued with a "club" spirit. This is the reason
why the foundation that supports the Museum is called the "Pan
Klub ". It reflects Xulīs idea that the Museum should be a meeting
place for artists, thinkers, and people interested in art and
science. What used to be the living-room is remembered as a place
where friendly gatherings tookplace. Xul often spent long hours
there chatting with his close friend, Jorge Luis Borges.
When the Museum was built, special emphasis was put on respecting
Xulīs idea. The design included a large central room and several
other smaller rooms. Xul was a pioneer in his times. He was a
visionary, a man who transformed art into a science. A large number
of his works are exhibited in this Museum, which is also equipped
with bibliography and reference material on the artist.
