Its four halls offer insight into the entire history of the police
force of the province of Chaco. Exhibits include uniforms dating
from the period in which Chaco was a national territory and several
documents concerning the offenses perpetrated by notorious bandits
operating in the area. The museum also houses a collection of weapons
from different periods and equipment used in criminalistic studies.
The house occupied by the museum was formerly the seat of the government
of the national territory of Chaco and was declared a National Historical
Monument.
Resistencia
Resistencia is the capital of the province of Chaco and is located
1,020 km. away from the Federal Capital. To reach Resistencia from
Buenos Aires one must travel down national route No.9 up to its
intersection with national route No.11, and then turn towards the
North down this route. Resistencia is known as the city of sculptures
since its public parks and streets are adorned with a large number
of sculptures. A sculpture competition is held here every year and
is the meeting place for thousands artists from all over the country.
Resistencia stands on the banks of the Negro River 7km. away from
the point where it meets the Paraná River. It is only 22km. away
from the city of Corrientes which one can get to by crossing the
General Manuel Belgrano bridge.
