Resistencia
is the capital of the province of Chaco and is located 1,020
km. away from the Federal Capital. To reach Resistencia from
Buenos Aires one must travel down national route No.9 up to
its intersection with national route No.11, and then turn
towards the North down this route.
Resistencia
is known as the city of sculptures since its public parks
and streets are adorned with a large number of sculptures.
A sculpture competition is held here every year and is the
meeting place for thousands artists from all over the country.
Resistencia stands on the banks of the Negro River 7km. away
from the point where it meets the Paraná River. It is only
22km. away from the city of Corrientes which one can get to
by crossing the General Manuel Belgrano bridge.
