• THE PARQUE NACIONAL CHACO
It is rich in plant and animal life. The vegetation is comprised of red quebrachos, carob trees, guayacans and dense caranday palm groves. Toucans, herons, storks, bandurrias, parrots, carpenter birds, monkeys, foxes, snakes, otters, carpinchos and yacare alligators are all in abundance.
 

THE METEORITES OF CAMPO DEL CIELO
Very near to the border with Santiago del Estero lies an area covered with meteorite fragments dating back 6,000 years. The largest meteorite to have fallen here, weighing 33,4 tons, has been baptized with the name of El Chaco.


Other places of interest
The Reserva Natural Estricta Colonia Benítez, is only 15km from the capital and has examples of the flora and fauna of the eastern region of Chaco. The reserve, Parque Provincial Pampa del Indio, also has abundant autochthonous fauna. It is very common to see tacurú, termites nests, which can reach a height of 1.5m.
