The city of Jesús María, over the Route N° 9, 49 Kms. from
Córdoba, had an origin in a ranch founded by the Jesuits in
1618, and was a native reduction. Some kilometers from the
city is the Convent of San Isidro, with a house, winery, church
and other rooms that are from the XVIII century. There is
the National Jesuit Museum that keeps more than 20.000 objects.
Several
heros of the Argentine history went to rest in theis ranch,
and Vélez Sársfield wrote some pages of the Argentine Civil
Code.
During January, many people comes to this city to enjoy the
Festival de la Doma (tame) and Folklore, of national importance.
The
zone is also important in appertaining to land and cattle.
