This temple was declared a National Histotical Monument and harbors
a wealth of sacred art. Worthy of mentioning is the temple´s main
image, a figure of St. Ann carved in wood by the guácara Indíans
from the Franciscan reductions. The figure´s army, legs, hands and
head are completely articulated Construction work on this chapel
began in 1745 and was completed in 1765. The outside was restored,
but the inside has been preserved as it was originally, with its
handcarved wooden loft. Another noteworthy image is a figure of
Christ carved out of a single trunk of timbó wood.
