In
its five halls, this museum harbors material related to regional
history. Worthy of mentioning are documents from the 18th century,
relics of what used to be the Convent of Santo Domingo, old reales
(a former silver coin of spain and Spanish Ametica, the eighth part
of a peso)and coins from the period of the Confederation, a 19th
century saber and rapier, cavalry lances used in the wars waged
during the 19th century, the base of the pulpit of the old Cathedral
of Corrientes and a wood-carved image of St. Peter belonging to
the first chapel in the city.

Saladas lies 100 km. away from the city of Corrientes down national
route No. 12.
