This
museum functions in the church and harbors pieces of sacred art
and other items related to the history of the region. Worthy of
mentioning is a retable carved by a Yaguarón Indian in 1790. It
is of cedar wood and was hand-carved in baroque colonial style.
There is also an image of Santa Lucía carved in baroque colonial
style dating from the 17th century that was probably brought from
Europe. Exhibits also include wood carvings made by the Indians
from the Franciscan reductions of San José, San Roque and the Immaculate
Conception. This site was declared a National Historical Monument.
