• CASTING FOR THE BIGGEST RIVER FISH IN THE WORLD In Esquina, Goya, Empedrado and Paso de la Patria you can catch dorado, a very aggressive fish which can weigh up to 35kg, manguruyú weighing 100kg or more and surubí of up to 60kg. The ideal fishing season is from September to March. In August, the Fiesta Nacional del Dorado is held in Paso de la Patria.

• LIFE ON THE ESTANCIAS You can stay on estancias like those of San Gará, Atalaya and San Juan Poriahú. From here, you can observe the fauna and go on excursions on foot, by canoe or on horseback.

• FIESTAS AND CHAMAMÉ Numerous popular fiestas are held in the region, like the famous carnivals of Esquina, Paso de los Libres and Corrientes. This is the land of chamamé, an unmistakable rhythm derived from the polka, and the Fiesta Nacional del Chamamé is held in Corrientes.
