Open Mondays through Sundays from 9 to 12 a.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m.
This museum was built around the collection that Mr. Andrés García
began to assemble in his home. Upon his death, the municipality
purchased the house with all its belongings from Mr. García's heirs,
and in 1986 moved the collection to its present location. One of
its halls is devoted to everyday life and exhibits include large
ornamental back combs, fans, large vases a porcelain tea sets. There
is also a recreation of an original pulpería known by the name of
"La Chiripa" equipped with period glasses. It also harbors an important
collection of cowbells and coins. Its hall of religious imagery
houses 19th century images, while the area devoted to archaeology
has an India skull and a Guaraní vessel dating from the Hispanic
period.

This city and port located on the banks of the Uruguay River was
founded in 1783 and is 261km.distant from Paraná. One can reach
it by driving down national route No. 12 and provincial route No.
39. It was the provincial capital until the second half of the 19th
century. The remains of General Justo José de Urquiza rest to the
left of the high altar in the Cathedral. The city is renowned for
its historical wealth and educational instutions. The site known
as the San José Palace, where General Urquiza lived and died, lies
35km. away from the city center.
