"Dr.
Diego Echazarreta" Museum of Paleontology

on the block of School No. 20 on the corner of Tratado de Pilar
and López Pilar Streets

This important paleontologic collection was assembled by Héctor
Cantoni who concentrated on fossils from the quaternary period in
Entre Ríos as well as some from the tertiary period. There are two
complete toxodon skulls (with arched teeth) dating from the quaternary
period that were discovered in the Gualeguay and Ají rivers. There
is also a glyptodont armor complete with its tail, remains of a
mylodon and mastodons, fossil remains of prehistoric horses that
became extinct 8, 000 years ago, archaeological objects such as
spearheads, axes and potsherds.
Galarza
This city belongs to the department of Gualeguay and is 200km. distant
from Paraná down national route No.12.
