This museum comprises traditional arts such as painting and sculpture in addition to engraving, drawing, architecture, graphic design, photography, video, cinema and comics. It was built around the donation of 3l works made by the artist Hugo Irureta in 1981, though it only secured its own premises in 1993. The museum building is located in the city center includes three exhibition halls, a multifunctional hall, three workshops, a library, a storehouse and two yards. The old Italian-style house dating from the early 20th century belonged to Pablo Guarrochena´s family and was restored respecting its original architectural design.
