This
museum functions in the palace that formerly belonged to the Arraubarrena
family, which is one of the most valuable architectural pieces of
its kind in the province. The building stands facing the Urquiza
Square and is an isolated four-story high block standing in the
middle of a large garden surrounded by an elaborate railing that
finishes off at the large door at the corner crowned with the initials
of its owner. The Regional Museum has been functioning here since
1984 and harbors important collections of photographs, coins and
medals. Amongst its most outstanding exhibits, there are weapons,
military uniforms, furniture and objects that belonged to important
institutions and families of the region.
Concordia
Concordia is located on the banks of the Uruguay River distant 267km.
from the city of Paraná down national routes No.18 and 14. Sites
worth visiting are the Cathedral of St. Anthony of Padua, the Rivadavia
Park and the ruins of San Carlos Palace, erected in 1888 and destroyed
a fire in 1938. The Salto Grande is 20km away from the city while
El Palmar National Park
is at a distance of 70km.
