This museum functions in the palace that formerly belonged to the Arraubarrena family, which is one of the most valuable architectural pieces of its kind in the province. The building stands facing the Urquiza Square and is an isolated four-story high block standing in the middle of a large garden surrounded by an elaborate railing that finishes off at the large door at the corner crowned with the initials of its owner. The Regional Museum has been functioning here since 1984 and harbors important collections of photographs, coins and medals. Amongst its most outstanding exhibits, there are weapons, military uniforms, furniture and objects that belonged to important institutions and families of the region.
