Open Mondays through Fridays from 9 to 12 a.m.
and from 5 to 9 p. m.
Its
two halls exhibit Guaraní pottery from the late or colonial period
such as funerary urns. There is also a large variety of lithic objects
such as percussion stones, arrowheads, whetstones and grinding stones.
There are also harpoon heads and needles made with fish or animal
bones. Also on display are several pieces of guaraní pottery with
engravings made with the person's nails, walking sticks and stone
knives.
Gualeguaychú
Located 299km away from the Provincial capital can be reached
down provincial route No.11 and provincial route No.16. Its main
touristic attraction is its river bordered with willows and ceibo
trees. The cathedral harbors an image of the Virgin of the Rosary
which is over 180 years old. One can also visit the house that belonged
to Olegario V. Andrade which now the Municipal Archives. Practice
of water sports is widespread in all this region.
