The idea of creating a museum came from the townspeople themselves
in 1994, but they only secured adequate premises in 1997. The building
comprises two exhibition halls and a large library with a room which
is used for classes of folkloric dancing, languages and a theater.
Exhibits include a large variety of stuffed local birds, newspapers
from 1912, the first movie projector in María Grande, old Victrolas,
bronce stirrups and cowbells from the turn of the century and an
old cash register.
