Open Mondays through Fridays from 9 to 12 a.m. and from 4 to 7p.m.
During the summer months it also opens on Saturdays and Sundays
from 5 to 8 p.m.
Its
three halls contain exhibits related to the history of the area,
art and natural sciences. Amongst the objects on display there is
a 19th century cash register a coast guardsman's uniform from 1820,
old photographs of the city, old Victrolas, radios and records,
and marble pieces from the Confederation House. In the area of natural
sciences it has six petrified whale vertebrae dating back 5.000.000
years. In the basement there is a recreation of the riverside environment
with real trees and stuffed animals of the local fauna.
Diamante
Diamante is located 40 km away from Paraná and can be reached down
provincial route No. 11. This city was founded in 1836 and stands
at the head of the Paraná delta. This area witnessed a military
encounter between the forces of Urquizas and Rosas. Worthy of visiting
is the Pre-Delta National Park a true reservoir of local flora and
fauna that can be visited in small boats.
