Ruins of the most important pre-Hispanic population of the "Quebrada de Humahuaca". This site is under the supervision of the "Dr. Eduardo Casanova" Archaeological Museum. One of the many fortresses forming a chain all along the Quebrada was partially reconstructed respecting the original layout in keeping with in-depth research work. This "Pucará" commands the entire view of the access to the "Quebrada". It stands on a hill 70m high at the foot of which is the high altitude botanical garden which harbors typical vegetation from the "Quebrada" and the "Puna". A visil to the Archaeological Museum of Tilcara provides greater insight into the lifestyle of the inhabitants of these fortresses.
