of the SculptorAlfredo Yacussi
Located
on the corner of De Benedetti and Castañeda streets Ring the bell
As many of the museums in this area, this institution was built
around the collection of sculptures and other works made by the
sculptor Alfredo Yacussi. It operates in what used to be his home
and studio and harbors all the artist´s work in addition to some
pieces by other artists from the area.
Tilcara
Tilcara is located on national route No. 9,84km. away from San Salvador
de Jujuy and 2,461m above sea level. This town was founded approximately
in the year 1600 and is characteristic of the "Quebrada" with its
"Collas" (Indians from the northwest) and its multicolored mountains.
The erection of its church began in 1797, but was only completed
in 1865. The entire area has a vast archaeological wealth, and its
main site is the "Pucará de Tilcara" (Pucará: fortress).
