The valleys of this ancient sierra are home to species like the puma, guanaco, fox, vizcacha and a variety of birds. It is a landscape of salmon-pink rocks dotted with yellow-flowering cacti. Following the low-lying fields you can see cave-paintings on the over-hanging rocks, drawn by the first inhabitants of these lands.
