This museum was inaugurated on May 1, 1992, and in the month of February 1998 the Temple of Infant Christ was inaugurated. This is an enormous manger that involved 25 years of work. Nocenta Pisetta was Italian and arrived in the count in 1930. Her work developed over the years to cover a large variety of topics and universal expressions amongst which she represented the family, children and regional personalities and literary characters. Amongst the works on display in the museum one can appreciate "Motherhood", "Virgin of the Valley", "Child with sling" and "Diaguita Indian". Also on exhibition is the original dining room set composed of hand-carved furniture.

Chilecito
The city of Chilecito is located on national route No. 40, 192km. away from the city of La Rioja, at the foot of the eastern flank of the Famatina massif 1,100m. above sea, level. It owes its name to the fact that a large number of Chilean laborers worked in its mines. The city's original name was Santa Rita. Nowadays it has developed into a summer resort with an active social and commercial life.
