At the entrance to the house there is a historic carob tree. Rosario Vera Peñaloza lived here during part of her childhood before she left for Buenos Aires.
Amongst the objects on display, there are photographs, silverwork and porcelain that belonged to the family, and documents related to the scientific background of the house owner.

Malanzán
Malanzán is located 185km. away from the city of La Rioja. Upon leaving La Rioja one must take provincial route No. 27 up to El Portezuela where one must make a 12km. detour down a consolidated dirt road. This town lies within the department of Juan Facundo Quiroga and is in an area known as "The route of the 'caudillos'". It is an area planted with fruit and olive trees. Parque Guasamayo is an important attraction with its bizarre rock formations such as "El loro" (the parrot) or "El elefante" (the elephant).
