This
wine began operating in 1920. The wine still preserves the first
fermentation tanks that set a landmark in the history of wineries
in 1940. Eight years later, the cooling system was inaugurated.
Engineer Anselmo Cremaschi was the person in charge of developing
the whole project. He was also extremely interested in Egyptian
civilization and had replicas built of Egyptian sculptures such
as that of King Rames II as well as hieroglyphics recounting the
history of wine made by the sculptor Antonio Pagés. The wines were
originally called "Faraón" (Pharaoh). The building that harbors
the museum comprises six rooms and two basements. Exhibits include
oak wine vats made in France and sundry old-fashioned machines used
in the wine industry that were donated by local winery owners.
