This museum is devoted to viticulture and viniculture and has a
hall dedicated to archaeology. Its main hall is divided by periods
and by the stages of the winemaking process. One of its halls is
devoted to 18th and 19th century imagery. It harbors approximately
4,500 pieces and is permanently incorporating new exhibits. Amongst
the objects on show is a wine press made of ox hide and wicker baskets
and leather bags to transport grapes. There are also presses and
grinders dating back to the end of the 19th century and the early
20th century vessels made of baked mud, tools and machinery, carriages,
period furniture, wood carvings, reliquaries and images from Cuzco
such as those of St. Ramón Nonato or Santiago (James) the Apostle.
All these paces were collected by Francisco Rutini.
Coquimbito
Coquimbito belongs to the department of Maipú. It lies 11km. away
from the city of Mendoza along national route No.7 (Eastern Access)
and then two kilometers down the Urquiza traffic lane.
