La Cacheura is one of the oldest mate producers in the country and is still in activity. In 1997, the company organized this historical museum named after its founder, one of the members of a group of Polish inmigrants who are revered nowadays by their descendants and by the plant workers. Exhibits include old-fashioned carriages and carts used for transporting cargo and for pleasure rides, machines used for fumigating ants, and furniture made by Don Juan himself. There are also old tools used for harvesting yerba mate and a rice mill.
