This
museum comprises five halls devoted to painting and sculpture. It
is located on the groundfloor of the "Palacio del Mate" (Mate Palace)
and harbors works by Juan Carlos Solís, Juan de Dios Mena Marcos
Otaño, Emilio Petorutti, Raúl Soldi and Antonio Berni museum was
created in 1948 and underwent several close-downs and moves until
it finally secured permanent premises in 1988. It has a colllection
of aproximately 200 works including paintings, drawings, engravings
and sculptures by local and other Argentine artists.
Posadas
The city of Posadas is the capital of the province of Misiones and
is located 1,060 km away from, the city of Buenos Aires. To get
there from Buenos Aires one must take national route No. 9 up to
its intersection with national route No. 14 and then travel down
this route towards the Notlh. Another alternative is to take national
route No. 12 that goes past the city of corrientes. Posadas lies
on the Paraná River and is 297 km. away from the province´s main
attraction: the Iguazú Falls, and 60 km away from the ruins of the
San Ignacio Miní Jesuitical Missions.
