This
museum comprises ten halls that house a scenic representation of
the Jesuitical missions including the huts, the dark jungle (that
symbolizes the beliefs of the Indians), the devil, the port,the
arrival of the conquistadors, a tavern and a barroom. There is also
a maquette that provides an exact idea of what a Jesuitical misson
looked like. The Royal Decree that ordered the expulsion of the
Jesuits in 1767 is also on display.

San Ignacio is 59 km away from Posadas and can be reached down national
route No. 12. Its main attraction are the ruins of San Ignacio Miní
the best preserved Jesuitical Mission.
