From San Martín de los Andes one can easily sail on lake Lácar and lake Nonthué in the Lanín National Park with its volcano of the same name (3,776 m). Amongst its plant species is the araucaria on which live unusual types of fauna such as the pudú, an endangered species, the smallest deer in the world.

Located in Los Arrayanes National Park, it is a community of a hundred year-old trees, which can reach more than 20 meters high. It is said that Walt Disney was inspired by it to create the atmosphere for the movie film "Bambi". Villa La Angostura is just 10 Km from the Park.
