It is located in a margin of the river Limay, 480 mts.over
the sea level. It was founded in April of 1897.
The town was in a private property of a company "El Cóndor",
some very poor hectares with no water or grass. When it was
divided it started to be profitable.

in one occasion through that way passed the Regiment 3 of
Cavalry, in 1890, going to San Martín of the Andes. An official,
killed an eagle with one shot in the gigantic stone promontory,
that rises at a side of the way and gave origin to the name
of the locality.
