The Parque Nacional Lanín, presided over by the volcano Lanín, resembles Mount Fuji Yama in Japan regarding its aspect and height. Protected in the park are species in danger of extinction like the pudú. One of the plants species worth noting is the peuhuén or araucaria. |

The arms of Lake Nahuel Huapi penetrate the forests and the mountains of the Parque Nacional de Nahuel Huapi. |

THE BOSQUE DE ARRAYANES
In the Parque Nacional Los Arrayanes, is a forest of arrayan trees which are over a hundred years old. This species of myrtle can grow to more than 20m high. It is said that this forest provided the inspiration for Walt Disney's Bambi.

THE SUBMERGED FOREST AND THE ENCHANTED VALLEY
In the Bosque Sumergido about fifty bare cypress trees emerge from the bottom of the lake. The Valle Encantado is an enormous expanse where the rocks have been eroded to form unusual shapes.
