By the end of the decade of the ‘30 started to develop the coast zone of the Partido de General Lavalle. A tourist move that gave origin to the cities of de San Clemente del Tuyú and Mar de Ajó. With the year came other foundations as: San Bernardo del Tuyú, Santa Teresita, Mar del Tuyú, Las Toninas, Costa Chica, La Lucila del Mar, Costa Azul, Costa del Este, Aguas Verdes, Nueva Atlantis, Pinar del Sol y Costa Esmeralda, forming the locality of General Lavalle until the 1st of July of 1978. Then the head of the cities became Mar del Tuyu.
