Reta has its name in tribute to Don Martín Reta, who was the principal impeller in the decade of the ' 20. This son of Spanish immigrants, dreamed about making a town not only a tourist place but a seaport for the city of Tres Arroyos.

The interest of the population was so great that in the first year the construction of a hotel was finished.

Know in summer time people from all the country comes to Reta to enjoy the nice place and the beach.
