City located at the coast of the River Paraná. Founded the 14 of april of 1748 by Don Rafael de Aguiar; declared city on the 23 of november of 1819.

It has a port and an ample Coast Avenue. Is an industrial. comercial, iron and steel center, favored for having the greatest thermoelectrial power station of the country.

The population shows great devotion for the Virgin of the Rosary; where it made several appearances, like the first one the 25 of September of 1983, to Mrs. Gladys Motta. For that reason great annual peregrinations become very concurred.
