Located at the southwest of the Province of Río Negro, at
the beginning of the Cerro Piltiquitrón and over the margin
of the river Quemquerntreu.
The Spaniard captain Don Diego Flores de león was the first
white man to get to the zone, but El Bolsón was founded in
the year 1933.
The picturesque achitecture is based in stone and wood.
Because
of the conservation of the heat in the rocky cerro Piltiquitrón,
El Bolsón has a microclimate very appreciated, and it helps
in winter time with the cold weather.
The National Park Lago Puelo completes the great tourist interest
of the place, with its cascade, Epuyén, of 80 meters high,
is another spot that makes it worth to visit.
Excursions to Cabeza del Indio, Cascade Mallin Ahogado and
Cascade escondida, among others, can be made.
