Located at the intersection of provincial routes 150 and 436

Open Mondays through Sundays from 9 to 12:30 a.m. and from 3:30
to 7 p.m.
The
original chapel was built by the Jesuits in 1655 though the present
building dates from 1787. It was declared a National Historical
Museum. Its walls are nearly one meter thick and are plastered with
goat dung and kneaded clay. An image of Our Lady of Carmen dominates
the altar and is an oil-painted mannequin dressed in starched underskirts
and covered with a cape.
Las
Flores
Las Flores lies 198km. away from the city of San Juan and belongs
to the department of Iglesia. To get there one must take national
route No.40 up to San José de Jáchal and then turn west along provincial
route No.150. Another alternative is to take national route No.40
up to Talacasto and then carry on along provincial route No.436.
