Río de la Tranca (Tranca River) Site Museum

Located on national route No. 150 between the towns of Colola and Pachimoco
Tourist Office Tel. No.: 02647-423008
Permanently open.

This site museum contains geometric glyphs that are virtually unique in the country. There is only one other similar site in the Vinchina River in the province of La Rioja. These glyphs are geometric drawings made with stones on the ground. The different-colored stones form figures that can only be seen from a great height. It is a low mountain ceremonial site comprising four well-defined polychrome geometric figures and a retaining wall. They were discovered by Engineer Prieto in mid- 1991 and are presumed to have belonged to the Incaic culture.

Las Flores
Las Flores lies 198km. away from the city of San Juan and belongs to the department of Iglesia. To get there one must take national route No.40 up to San José de Jáchal and then turn west along provincial route No.150. Another alternative is to take national route No.40 up to Talacasto and then carry on along provincial route No.436.
