Many
of the local inhabitants have transformed this place into a popular
religious museum. There are thirteen small chapels harboring thousands
of sundry objects including brides' dresses, jewelry, porcelain
objects, timepieces, sport trophies, silver and bronze ornamental
objects, musical instruments, images of the Virgin, portraits of
Perón (Juan Domingo: 1895-1974, Argentine military and political
leader: president 1946-55, 1973-74), old and new photographs, etc.
The "Difunta Correa" [deceased woman by the surname of Correa] died
of thirst in 1830, but her son continued to suckle and managed to
survive.
Vallecito
Vallecito belongs to the department of Caucete and is 60km. distant
from the city of San Juan. To get there one must travel along national
routes No. 20 and 141 and then take the access road.
