Comandante Luis Piedrabuena is a city located beside the River
Santa Cruz at 241 Km. from the city of Río Gallegos.
It
is surprising the green vegetation at the river shores and
in the islands making an oasis in the middle of the patagonic
desert.
Here
you can visit the Island Pavon. It was declared Historic National
Place because there was the house of the Comandante Luis Piedrabuena,
where now is a Museum with objects of the old house.
You
can also go fishing in the River
Santa Cruz, and in Monte León you can observe penguins and
lobos marinos.
