Open Tuesdays through Fridays from 8 to 12 a.m. and from 2 to 6
p.m.; Sundays From 6 to 9 p.m. in summertime
and from 5 to 8 in wintertime.
This
museum is devoted to regional and national history and comprises
four halls and a yard used for exhibitions. The building it occupies
is over 100 years old and one of its rooms was used by Cayetano
Alberto Silva, a musician and the creator of the San Lorenzo March
in 1901. Exhibits include the baton and cornet that belonged to
the musician, a collection of photographs fire weapons, boleadoras
found in the area, a Challen & Hollis piano from London dating from
1845 and a German record player. One of its halls is devoted to
the first inhabitants of Venado Tuerto who were mainly English and
irish.

Venado Tuerto lies 317km. away from the city of Santa Fe. To get
there from the provincial capital one must take the expressway to
Rosario up to San Lorenzo, then travel down route A012 up to national
route No.33, follow this route up to its intersection with national
route No.8, and finally cover 4km. down this route up to Venado
Tuerto.
