Open Mondays through Fridays from 8 to 12 a.m. and from 3 to 5 p.m. in wintertime, and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in summertime.

Its eight halls contain exhibits of regional material, machinery and tools from the colonial period, photographs and objects for everyday use. The discovery of the remains of a glyptodont in the area led to the creation of a sector devoted to paleontology which is currently being organized. The museum operates in a building dating from 1927 that was formerly occupied by the Cultural Center. It also organizes temporary exhibitions of the works of local artist as well as theme exhibitions.
