"Los Desmochados" Private Museum of Anthropology and Natural History

This museum comprises six halls, the first of which is devoted to anthropology and archaeology and traces the evolution of the cultures of the region. The hall devoted to ethnography and folklore has different musical instruments on display; the hall of paleontology exhibits glyptodont armors, the remains of megatheres and teeth belonging to different species. The art hall contains works by local plastic artists, while the area devoted to mineralogy and petrography exhibits minerals and rocks found in the surrounding area. Finally, the area devoted to the colonial period offers and overview of farming activities carried out by the town´s first inhabitants.

Casilda lies 280km. away from the city of Santa Fe. In order to get there from the provincial capita1 one must take the expressway to Rosario up to the town of San Lorenzo, then switch to national routeA012 and, finally turn down national route No.33 and the access road.
