Open Mondays through Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 3:30 to
5:30 p.m. Also open the first Saturday and third Sunday of each
month from 5 to 7p.m.
This
museum has seven halls devoted to the history and objects of Los
Sunchales Fort that was created on April 11, 1796. The purpose behind
the creation of this and other forts was to close off the Indians
and to protect the mercury sent from Spain to Buenos Aires and transported
from this city up to Peru. In addition to all the items that preserve
the memory of the old fort and the first colonizers that inhabited
the region another items on display is the Berlin that won the 500
miles race held in Rafaela.
Sunchales
Sunchales lies 135km away from the city of Santa Fe. In order to
get there from the Provincial capital one must follow national route
No.19 up to its intersection with national route No.34 and then
turn down this route towards the North.
