Its four halls exhibit material related to the history of the region and of the General San Martín railway line. One of its halls is devoted to Italian and Spanish immigration and harbors many documents and records. Exhibits include train lamps, a Dutch toilet set dating from 1924, a clock from the railway station office and jars belonging to the first chemist´s shop in Rufino.

Rufino is located on the border with the province of Córdoba and is 412km. distant from the city of Santa Fe. In order to get there from the provincial capital one must take the expressway to Rosario up to San Lorenzo, then carry on down route A012 up to national route No.33 which leads to Rufino.
