This museum comprises an exhibition hall, a vestibule and a laboratory. It is divided into areas devoted to natural sciences, archaeology, physics, chemistry, astronomy and a science club. Exhibits include the remains of a glyptodont, specimens of the autochthonous fauna and some objects belonging to the primitive Indian inhabitants. Scientific research is carried out in this museum and some of the works participate in international scientific events.

San Cristóbal is located 180km. away from the city of Santa Fe. In order to get there from the provincial capital one must travel down national route No.11 up to its intersection with provincial route No.4, then turn north down this route till it crosses provincial route No.13 where this town is located.
