This museum is a pioneer institution in its specific field. It is one of the first photograph museums in the country equipped with adequate premises since it boasts a specialized library, a laboratory, a hall for temporary exhibitions and an archive. Old photographs from the basis of its exhibits, but it also displays material ranging from primitive photographs to others taken nowadays. The photographic material on display derives, from donations and assignments made by the descendants of immigrants who arrived in this area towards the end of the 19th century, as well as valuable pieces belonging to renowned contemporary argentine and foreign authors.
