Open Mondays through Saturdays from 9 to 12a.m. and from 6 to 8p.m.
This
museum was created in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of
the town of Fernández. At present it has no building of its own
and functions in the railway station. However, the idea is to move
it lo the old building belonging to the Police headquarters. It
has 5 exhibition halls that harbor different types of archaeological
material and pieces gathered in the surrounding sites. There are
also photographs, clothing, instruments belonging to the first inhabitants,
furniture, farm machinery and pieces belonging to the Mitre railway
line. The hall named "Remnants of the Past" contains objects related
to the everyday life of its inhabitants including the wooden pans
used for washing clothes, mortars made of quebracho colorado wood
and brands for marking livestock.
Fernández
Fernández is located 41km. away from the city of Santiago del Estero
and 31km. away from La Banda, on national route No. 34.
