This museum was created upon an initiative put forward by the local
townspeople who wished to preserve their own history. It functions
in the Argentine Federal Police Force School which includes both
primary and secondary school levels. A large number of the objects
in the museum were recovered from the railway line since most of
the villagers were railway workers. When this branch line was lifted,
many were left jobless and activity slackened. Amongst the objects
on display there are things that belonged to the station such as
clocks, a picture of Bartolomé Mitre, the bell, timetables, tickets,
lanterns, communication equipment, books recording the movement
of trains and money, caps worn by the guards, and clothing. Also
on display is the explosive material used to make signs on rainy
days. Another hall harbors the library and there is a sector devoted
to Everyday Life that contains objects belonging to different periods
and a sample case of coins. There are also some archaeological pieces
found in the surrounding area.
