Going through the National Route Nº 3 from the city of Río Grande towards Ushuaia, there is a place in which the landscape begins to change with the mountainous chain that continuous until the end of the world. Tolhuin is located there, a colorful locality that rises to borders of the interminable Fagnano Lake.
Its name comes from the word "Tol-Wen" that in the Shelkman language of the original settlers of the region means "like heart".
Within the city it is impossible not to go to the recognized bakery "La Union" that in addition to its exquisiteces counts on a great historical aggregate since around the bakery it began the commune of Tolhuin.
One of more interesting tourist routes is the one of the way of the ranches (estancias), many of which were remake specially to offer to the visitor all the comforts so that it can lodge in them or simply to spend the day.
You can taste the fueguino lamb and make many activities of the daily life in the estancias.
The imposing Fagnano lake, it waters arrive to Chile, offers varied alternative for the navigation and the fishing of the trout rainbow.
