"Dr. Ernesto Padilla" Archaeological Museum

This museum was inaugurated in 1973 and stands beside the dam. It comprases an exhibition hall, a laboratory, a microcinema and administrative oftices. Amongst its exhibits there are funerary urns, vessels, pipes, arrowheads, axes, pendants and pieces carved in bone belonging to the Candelaria culture. All these objects were discovered during excavation work for the dam.
