"Dr.
Ernesto Padilla" Archaeological Museum

in Vllla El Cadillal, 25km. north of the city down national route

This museum was inaugurated in 1973 and stands beside the dam. It
comprases an exhibition hall, a laboratory, a microcinema and administrative
oftices. Amongst its exhibits there are funerary urns, vessels,
pipes, arrowheads, axes, pendants and pieces carved in bone belonging
to the Candelaria culture. All these objects were discovered during
excavation work for the dam.

Miguel de Tucumán
The city of San Miguel de Tucumán, capital of the province, is located
1,303km. away from the Capital City, on national route No. 9, and
447m. above sea level. It is the most important industrial and commercial
city in the Argentine Northwest, and has several touristic attractions
in the surroundings, such as Villa Nogués, cerro San Javier and
El Cadillal dam.
