Fostered by its owners, this museum aims at reproducing the spirit
of an old bar or pulpería, where villagers and people from the surrounding
areas gathered to give life to the tradicional feast of Simoca held
every Saturday. The idea is to gather material related to the townspeople's
history, focusing on the production of sugar cane and different
handicrafts, as well as the preservation of typical local foods
that characterize the town. This house is also remembered for the
popular festivities and carnival celebrations of times gone by,
where well-known orchestras played under the branches of the trees
in the dirt yards. The museum is under the authority of the Simoca
Foundation.
Simoca
Simoca is located 45km. away from San Miguel de Tucumán on national
route No. 157. Every Saturday the villagers and people from the
surrounding areas gather to sell their goods in a fair.
